Towards the end of 2021, I began to focus on my mark making—shapes and quality of line that are prevalent throughout my work. Particular forms were easy to generate, they felt natural and familiar. I produced a series of paintings in order to capture and define more of these shapes and symbols. I began to think of these as part of my vocabulary. I remain curious about how this visual vocabulary will evolve in my work.
